Description:

The Spanish-English Light Tech (SELT) AAC board has been created to serve individuals that need to communicate in both Spanish and English. Individuals using the SELT will have access to both Spanish and English simultaneously without having to learn two separate systems. An individual using SELT will be able to use this system at home with Spanish-speaking relatives, at school with English-speaking teachers, with community members, and therapists no matter which language is spoken. Providing written words in Spanish and English on the SELT AAC board also encourages communication partners speaking either language to model the use of the board. The SELT AAC board is made up of two parts: the core board and the fringe board. All boards can be printed out and assembled. This board was created by Jenica Barrett in conjunction with Portland State University professors.
