Description:
Included are phrase- and short sentence-level practice sheets for the voiced consonants in the English language. All are targeted in syllable initial word initial (SIWI) position specifically, so the "zh" sound (as in "measure") has been omitted from the set. Each carrier phrase contains an additional SIWI target. These practice sheets have been designed for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) and access Auslan as their first language. As such, I have designed these worksheets to be alphabet-focused to help build connections between the spoken sound, the fingerspelled letter, and the written letter. While I have ensured that only one phoneme is targeted at a time, I have refrained from including alternative spellings (e.g. I have not included "gem" for the sheet targeting /dz/ as I have focused on "j" being the most common letter for this sound. Pictures chosen based on ease of producing a signed form over spoken form. Targets: g, b, d, m, n, l, r, y, j, v, w, z, voiced th.
